About Kickstart
The government has introduced the "Kickstart" Scheme to fund the direct creation of high quality jobs for young people at the highest risk of long- term unemployment. It will give young people the chance to build their confidence and skills in the workplace, and to gain experience that will improve their chances of going on to find long- term, sustainable work.
Each "Kickstarter" job is for 25 hours per week for 6 months. Pay is at the National Living Wage according to the Kickstarter's age.
Holy Trinity is pleased to participate in this scheme as both an employer and a gateway (for other employers Mayway Construction and Leicester Diocesan Board of Finance).

Our commitment to each "Kickstarter" is to give you a meaningful job, to help you explore your potential and to give you possibly the best training programme from any Kickstarter employer. You will finish your role with us with far more than one line on your CV.
Roles Available
Holy Trinity is expecting to have 30 roles available in two blocks of 15. Job roles are varied but include baristas at our Kings Coffee House, administrative assistants, audio visual assistants and project co-ordinators.
If you are interested in any of our roles, please ask your job coach to look us up under the official employer name "The Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Holy Trinity with St John the Divine".
Otherwise to our friends we are known simply as "Holy Trinity" or even just HTL Church!
Training
Experience is a key reason why you should do one of these roles, but on top of that, we want to invest in each of our Kickstarters through a comprehensive and varied training programme, so that you have much more to put on your CV when you have finished your placement.
Training will be either online or in person, depending on the subject. Much will be interactive. Some will give you formal certificates at the end. All of them will increase your understanding and employability.

Please note you can ONLY apply for a role under this scheme if you have already been referred to us by your job coach at the Job Centre. If you are interested in applying for one of these roles, you must get your coach to refer you to us first. We will check that applicants are eligible to be employed under this scheme prior to interviews.
Employers
Are you an employer that wants to make use of this scheme and create meaningful jobs for young adults? Holy Trinity is an approved Gateway and we are happy to receive enquiries from new employers in related organisations who might want us to act as their Gateway. We can help you with:
- Applying to participate in the scheme
- Financial administration
- Training
- Contracts, policies, etc.
In order to participate, you must be able to offer 25 hours per week for 6 months satisfying the following conditions:
- The roles are new (i.e. they did not exist beforehand) and meaningful jobs that require minimal training before starting
- The roles do not consequently reduce any existing employee's or contractor's hours
- The roles would not exist apart from Kickstart funding
- Training must be provided to help each Kickstarter with their own employability.
